On my arrival to the NUA, the school’s photo studio was a place which I had to quickly adapt to. Being new to the course, I had the opportunity to assist Kirstie’s early photo shoot for the first assignment. Her approach in exploring portraiture was to use prisms and yellow filters.
My role in this session was to assist her in shifting light positions and changing colour gels and lighting equipment, etc. In addition, I had been able to provide a few behind-the-scenes images, which she focuses on the main shoot.
After this enjoyable session, I understood about the school’s equipment and where to retrieve it. This helped me adapt to my environment quickly.
